The Glamorous Life Of Rock Star

So the discovery for today is that, the life of a radio celebrity really isn't that spectacular. I went to CFAM yesterday to do my recording. After getting lost and driving around the block trying to figure out where I was supposed to go, I finally ended up on the second story of the Golden West Plaza. I must say it is a pretty pimped out place. So anyway, I hung around for a few minutes and then they took to me to a back room full of computers and mics and the sort. After cracking a bunch of jokes and trying out both my Arnold Schwarzenegger impression and my Scottish accent (and cracking up the sound guy pretty good) I decided I would stick to my normal voice... but I really think that they would have let me do anything, if it would spice up the Meditations From the Upper Room. Anyway it is really interesting when you start recording, because you have to be perfect, or else.... do it again... and again... and again... and again... and... well you get the idea. But it was a good time. I think I could handle working in the radio world (I definitely have the face for it), it looked like fun. But I'm still a little ticked that they didn't take me into a green room where there would be all sorts of great food and drinks for me, and then I could sit in a big leather chair and get a massage while I get ready to do my recording... I mean what does a guy have to do to get the rock star treatment? Oh well there is always the chance that they'll ask me to do it again... if they do, I'm holding out for a limo... or at least a ride to the station... and a Coke! If You are interested in what other stars demand when they are on tour check out The Smoking Gun and the backstage demands of bands from The Backstreet Boys to my personal fav u2.

I wouldn't hold out on a limo if I were you, they could probably fit all their listeners into one.

using the word pimp in slang is a bit dirty even when we mean it to me "set up in style" or extravagant. think of its origins. A bad habit.

First off, I'm not such a fan of Anonymous people leaving comments, at least sign your name to it.
Secondly the word while the word "pimp" carries with it some traces of it's former meaning, language is always evolving and changing. Today to use the word "pimp" or "pimped" (in the context that I did) means: "To take something old, and thought to be unfashionable, and to restore it, or customize it." True the origins are sketchy, but in today’s language the meaning is changing rapidly. In much the same way as words like "shoot," "darn," and "suck" no longer mean what they used to. There was a day when if you said, "This sucks" you were going to have your mouth washed out with soap, but today...
I appreciate your thoughts anonymous person, but I'll stand by my use of the word.
