Leonard Sweet and Summoned to Lead

So I had one of the greatest days in a long time yesterday. I was able to go with the other pastors to hear Leonard Sweet at Conference called Summoned to Lead. I’ll be sharing some of my thoughts about what he said tomorrow. But for now I just wanted to say if you get the chance to hear him, GO!

The other thing I wanted to say was that the moment I stepped foot in the conference room I KNEW That this was a conference for culturally relevant, “emerging,” post-modern pastors and church leaders. There was Starbucks, Laptops, blackberry’s, and Cell phones every where. Leonard even started both of his sessions with an extra tall Starbucks Frappuccino. Unfortunately I couldn’t go for the second day but today Starbucks was actually COMING to the conference center to serve Lattes to all of the pastors J just makes ya smile huh!

Finally it was a good day for two more reasons. ONE I got to check out my wireless internet for about ten minutes until the signal was taken away from me L
And the other thing was I got two books. Summoned to Lead by Leonard Sweet (for Free) and then I bought Soul Shaper (exploring spirituality and contemplative practices in Youth Ministry) and that book was only $8 so all in all it was a very productive and fun day. So tune in tomorrow for some of my thoughts on Aslan, Song, and Us (most of which will be stolen from Sweet).
